Tips to plan your First Year of the College
Students, who finished their Final exams, will be free from the exam tensions and will be dreaming about their future. Don’t waste your summer holidays by just thinking, use that time to Choose your Career. But first you have to select the course, in which way you want to build your career, as what you want to be in your future.
Use the following steps to choose your career option
Review the Course Catalog
First get the Course brochure from the college to the home, sit and study the course brochure fully, and decide how to mark your major course. If you are the fresher, do not know how to select the course, then you can choose according to your subjects, in which subject you are good.
Students, who ever have their own ideas, like if he/she is interested to go in the medical field, and then choose the subjects, Biology or Physics or Chemistry. Some will be interested in Civils, and then choose Economics or History or Political Science
Get Requirements Out of the Way
The Course and Subjects differs from one college to the other, the students must select the Colleges earlier. Now a days colleges offer huge requirements to secure the students to explore the subjects beyond their major courses.
Find a Balance of Hard and Easy Courses
As a fresher, students may be excited to take the difficult courses, while selecting the course, think twice about the course, because it will effects on your ranks. Students may feel stress to study the hard subjects.
Find a Balance of Subject Areas
Students should select the subjects that contains of various types of works. Like, Literature and History subjects, for these subjects students must work on reading and for journalism, must work on writing, and for Math and science, students have to work on solving the problems. So you should not select the subject, in which you have to read the books in a single week, or you have to write research papers in a limited period.
Take Advantage of your Advisor
Colleges allocate the Academic Advisors for the students of their first year of the college. It is very important for the students to fix up the appointments with their Academic Advisors to ask the questions. Students are not satisfied with the answers of the Advisor; they can contact department chairperson or their subject teachers
Use AP Credits, Placement Exams, and More
Students first check while registration did you have completed any of your core requirements. Students got high score in AP Exams, students no need to take certain classes, like a lab science. If the student Scores highly in the placement exam, then no need of taking the required language course. Students joining for Tap Dancing, think how the gymnastics team is required for the physical education
Take a Writing Course
Writing course in the first semester is not hard course for the students, so it is good if they select the writing course. In addition the course knowledge will be helpful in any of the college career coursesÂ
Make a Plan for Registration Day
Classes Registration will be little bit tensed. Some students may have the opportunity to choose the courses in a computer system; some students will be compelled to stand in the long queue. To get register in the popular classes, some may step in to lottery. Students may be confident for, the willing classes may be full, or students needed two classes will be in the same timings.
